Starbucks Closing Stores
Jessica Borton, Starbucks’ regional vice president for Northern California, sent out a letter to employees last week informing them that the stores will be closed.
“There are several factors Starbucks considers when tasked with the tough decision of closing a store, but it is all part of ensuring a healthy store portfolio,” Borton wrote, according to Fox Business. “We will continue to listen to the needs of our partners to ensure they can focus on crafting beverages and creating connections in a welcoming environment.”
The Starbucks stores in the San Francisco neighborhoods of Financial District, Cathedral Hill, South of Market (SoMa) and Union Square are set to close effective of October 22. These locations include stores at the intersections of Mission and Main; Geary and Taylor (designed as a pickup-only location); 4th and Market; and Bush and Van Ness.
Borton assured employees at these stores that they will be offered the opportunity to transfer to nearby locations.
“Transfer opportunities are available and will be offered to each impacted partner,” Boston wrote. “We remain committed to continuing to dialogue with and support our partners in ways that work best for them as individuals throughout this transition.”

Crime Surge In San Francisco
Yahoo News reported that crime is so out of control in San Francisco that retail giants like Nordstrom, H&M, Marshall’s, Gap, Banana Republic, Anthropologie and Office Depot have all announced that they are closing stores in the California city in recent months. John Chachas, the CEO of Gump’s, a 166-year-old department store in San Francisco, recently lamented this in an open letter to California Governor Gavin Newsom, Mayor London Breed, and the city’s Board of Supervisors.
“As we prepare for our 166th holiday season at 250 Post Street, we fear this may be our last,” Chacas wrote. “San Francisco now suffers from a ‘tyranny of the minority’ — behavior and actions of the few that jeopardize the livelihood of the many.”

“The ramifications of COVID policies advising people to abandon their offices are only beginning to be understood,” he continued. “Equally devastating have been a litany of destructive San Francisco strategies, including allowing the homeless to occupy our sidewalks, to openly distribute and use illegal drugs, to harass the public and to defile the city’s streets.”

Joe Rogan Sounds Off
The popular podcaster Joe Rogan recently called out San Francisco for its “next level” lawlessness and disorder.
“San Francisco is like a failed state. No one’s stopping anybody from doing anything,” Rogan said. “It’s crazy how quick San Francisco has [declined]. Everyone’s pulling out of there. Hotels are pulling out. Chains like Walgreens are pulling out.”
Stand-up comedian and actor Gabriel Iglesias agreed with him, saying that San Francisco is “becoming a ghost town, and they’re not pumping the breaks on it.”

This all just goes to show what happens when a city is completely taken over by liberals. We’re not surprised that Starbucks has made the decision to close some of its San Francisco stores, and we can expect more brands to do the same in the future if the left continues to run the city into the ground.
